Recently, on Twitter, I have seen a number of people following me be in ownership of or recommending a Taxi website! No, I am not referring to any Taxi, as in transportation, service. I am talking about those websites with a white background and red and black text. Occasionally, there are blinking stars and blockquotes with yellow background. In brief, colors so much like a taxi in Mumbai. Most of the times the text size is large enough to get blessings from your 80-year old grandfather.

Almost always, there is someone very pleased raving about their great experience with the program/package…

Some words you would see on that one-page website: FREE, 100%, GREAT VALUE, PROOF, GATHER 1000′s OF FOLLOWERS, MAKE MONEY ON INTERNET!!

Typically such websites have an area where they ask you for your credit card information.

I have been shopping on Internet since 1996 and always identify the fakes. Though most of these are places where I would never buy anything for sure, there is something very intriguing about them and I just can’t seem to be able to classify them as fakes. Not that I would like to buy something from any of these websites but I am kind of looking for the right term, if I understood exactly what they are.

What are your thoughts and experiences (if any?)
